Greetings,
The Bible is a great read.
It is, indeed, thee ultimate collection of writings.
I was raised with the Bible,
in school, in church and at home.
And I am entirely thankful and grateful to my parents for that.
In short, the Bible has been a guide for me throughout life.
So I started listening to an audio version of the Bible
a couple of weeks ago while I was on the road.
I began with the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and so on.
And the more I read it or listen to it. . . the more I get it.
It brings peace & clarity for me when terrible events take place like Hamas in Israel.
In the present day, what happened to the nation-state of Israel was an act of war.
And Israel has the legal & moral right to take action.
That said, the Bible embodies the truest natures of good & evil, sin & redemption.
It is, indeed, the greatest story ever told.
Make no mistake about it. . .
The Lord God is good all of the time.
Evil is the devil.
The devil is evil.
Satan is the beginning of evil. . .
Satan is the source of evil. . .
Satan is the impetus of evil. . .
Evil is a reality -- Evil exists.
Fact: The Lord God Almighty detests evil.
Fact: The Lord utterly detests the devil.
There are numerous accounts of "Good vs. Evil" in the Bible.
The book of Job is one account.
(click here for the entire account of Job)
Job is a rare occasion where, and when,
the Lord opens a "window" for the reader to the invisible world.
And there is so much that I like about it. . .
1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job.
This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord,
and Satan also came with them.
7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
I like how the Lord has absolute control over Satan in this confrontation.
The Lord asks Satan a straightforward question
(as if he doesn't know where Satan came from).
But Satan clearly understands that he has no other choice other than to answer the Lord with truth
(something that is not in Satan's true nature).
And so the Lord God, in the book of Job, demonstrates his almighty power over Satan to the reader.
Moving forward, as the account unfolds,
the Lord allows terrible things to happen to Job.
In so doing, Job's faith in the Lord is put to the test:
17 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said,
“The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with them.
They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
Similarly, Hamas swept down and butchered the Jews, and others, in Israel.
Hamas aims to torment.
They are indeed terrorists consumed by hate.
And they continue to torment, to terrorize, and to murder their own people and others.
The forces of evil continue to be at work.
And the impetus remains the same.

I want to share another testament of good vs. evil in the Bible.
It is the account of Jezebel.
(Read 1 & 2 Kings for the entire account leading up to, and after, Jezebel. Crazy!)
It is clear that the Lord God detests evil when. . .
the Lord God, through Elijah, prophesied her demise.
The Lord literally spoke through the prophet Elijah.
There was no way out of it for Jezebel.
She had it coming to her.
The notorious tyrant, Jezebel.
A more-than-cruel, malicious, manipulative,
sexually depraved and vane woman she was, indeed!
She practiced witchcraft and worshiped idols.
Power & control was her ruthless ambition.
So consumed with evil Jezebel was that the Lord God designed her temporal demise:
At the command of Jehu,
two or three eunuchs threw Jezebel out of a window.
She plummeted helplessly and hopelessly to her death.
Her blood spattering on the horses and on the wall.
And her body waiting. . .
Waiting to be trampled on.
(Yes, Jehu [they] pounced on Jezebel.)
And her body waiting. . .
Waiting for the wild dogs to pull her flesh, her skull and her bones apart.
And her body waiting. . .
Waiting for the dogs to devour it, leaving only her skull, her feet and the palms of her hands.
And so Jezebel met her fate precisely as the Lord designed.
Why should we fear anything but the Lord God Almighty?

This message is not finished.
I have more to write. . .
Sincerely,
Jonathan
