Skin
Is it underrated?
Is skin underestimated?
Is it misunderstood?
All thee above, perhaps.
When given proper care, skin can be very attractive.
In fact, generally speaking, skin is what gives "a human body" its physical integrity. . . its completeness.
Yet more noteworthy, skin serves as a line of defense to certain aspects that exist within "a human body."
But skin is often taken for granted or, at times, neglected.
So it is with the U.S. and Mexico international border of our "Great Nation."

Two Absolute Distinctions
As it is well documented, skin has design and purpose. It is complex. Simply stated, skin has different forms and functions.

So as one may very well understand, there are many skin types. Skin is everywhere. And much thought and care, time, money and energy are invested into those skin types. The U.S. and Mexico international border is not any different.
For example, thought and care, time, money and energy are invested into the U.S. and Mexico international border for the following reasons: 1) to promote and to foster strong foreign relations; 2) to promote and to provide safe travel and tourism; 3) to promote trade and commerce; 4) to monitor and to control the flow of immigration; and 5) to monitor, to prevent and to control the flow of drugs, crime, disease, terrorism and... the Mexican Cartels.

"Because it interfaces with the environment, skin plays a key role in protecting the body against pathogens and excessive water loss. Its other functions are insulation, temperature regulation, sensation, synthesis of vitamin D, and the protection of vitamin B folates. Severely damaged skin will try to heal by forming scar tissue. This is often discolored and depigmented."

Oh yes, I concur. For I do have a scar on my chin. Unfortunately, the reality is, there are border scars that individuals bare that have been far more difficult to endure than the scar I received on my chin. But time heals. And time is a great healer.
Because "a human body" and the human spirit are resilient.
Indeed, the United States and the American Spirit are resilient!

In closing, it is true, skin has design and purpose. It is complex. And skin has different forms and functions. When given proper care, skin can be very attractive. In fact, skin is what gives "a human body" its physical integrity. . . its completeness.
And that is not to diminish what matters most, rather, what lies deep within, that is to say, the human spirit -- the American Spirit!

Two Absolute Distinctions:
When we take better care of our "skin," our "skin" takes better care of us.
And where there is a will, there is a way.
It can be done!
